B2 level, 11pm, completely dead after two weeks away. He was at the car in twenty minutes with the right battery on the van, and knew the ramp height before he arrived. Idle relearn done too.
Two other people told me I needed a new battery. He tested it, said the battery was fine and the alternator was the problem, and charged me nothing for coming. Honest people are rare.
Explained why the cheap battery I had fitted last year died in fourteen months — too small for the car. Fitted the correct size and it has been perfect through the summer.
Car would not wake up and I assumed the main battery. It was the 12V. He had one in stock, fitted it in the basement, and I was driving again within half an hour.
Battery under the floor, registered on his laptop in front of me. Detailed invoice, warranty in my name, old battery taken away. Much cheaper than the dealer quoted.
Called at 6am before the school run. Answered on the second ring, arrived while I was still making coffee. Card payment at the car, invoice by WhatsApp.
